You can use your Palm Install Tool that was provided with your Palm Desktop software to install all the .prc and .pdb files in this zipped archive (17 in all). This option does NOT require dowloading and installing the Satellite Forms Redistributable components, but you will not be able to save/restore data during HotSync or modify lookup tables on your PC. Note that since ProcLog's procedure lookup table ("prlRRC") comes with the neurosurgery procedure codes recommended by the neurosurgery residency review committee, most users will need to edit the prlRRC table. This option requires HotSync configuration as explained below.
HotSync Configuration:
1) Download and install the Satellite Forms Redistributable Components (satforms.zip) from our Web site www.synapsesoft.com/download.htm. Run the setup.exe file in the \Disk1 folder of the zip archive.
2) Run the included Proclog Conduit Registration.bat file. Run this batch file AFTER completing step 1.
Now, choose your access method:
3) If you have Access 97 or 2000, download ProclogSync.zip from our Web site, which contains an Access database ProclogSync.mdb. After backing up your existing procedure data once, you can then make changes to the attending and site lookup tables and restore those changes to your Palm
3a) Ensure that the HotSync form in the ProcLogSync database is open during the hotsync process. You should be able to watch the status of the HotSync operation on the HotSync form (and any error messages will appear there, as well).
4) If you don't have Access, download SynapseSync.zip from www.synapsesoft.com/download.htm and run the setup.exe program. This is a program that allows you to backup and restore data to/from your Palm, and modify the table contents. For more information, see www.synapsesoft.com/faq.htm and the included Readmefirst files.
Now, all HotSync events will trigger the appropriate response by the Access database, if the database's HotSync form is open. The free Access 97 databases available from our Web site are RounderSync.mdb, ProclogSync.mdb, ProcLogAndRounderSync.mdb, as well as the Proclog Departmental Synchronization System (PRDSS). PRDSS does not work with Access 2000, but does work with Access 97. If you don't have Access, you can user our SynapseSync program to back up your data.
Note: You can also complete or update your installation at any time by replacing individual program files or database files through the standard Palm Install Tool. Be careful not to accidentally replace your clinical data files! These are SFT-SE_PRLPT (patient data) and SFT-SE_PRLPROC (procedure data).
